Killer Darts rules: Quick and Classic

These are the rules used by HostMyDarts. Explain the selected settings before play so everyone knows how the night will work.

Give everyone a number

Add at least two players. Each player needs a different dartboard number from 1 to 20. Assign a number yourself or choose Auto to use an available number. Set one to nine starting lives before the game.

Choose Quick or Classic

Quick Killer starts everyone as a Killer, ready to take lives. Classic starts players without Killer status. In Classic, choose one, two or three activation marks: players earn those marks by hitting their own number. Singles, doubles and trebles earn one, two and three marks respectively.

Before becoming a Killer, hitting another player's number causes no damage. Once a player is a Killer, hitting an active player's number removes one, two or three lives. That includes the Killer's own number, so record accidental self-hits accurately.

Record each visit

  1. Follow the current thrower shown on the host and TV. A visit contains up to three darts.
  2. For a hit, choose the player whose number was hit, then Single, Double or Treble. Record a miss for a dart that does not hit an active player's number.
  3. After three darts, the game advances the turn. Use End visit when the thrower stops early.

Agree the missed-visit rule

When the missed-visit penalty is on, a visit with no successful hits costs the thrower one life. Ending a visit without a successful hit can also apply that penalty. Turn it off in setup if that suits your house rules.

Correct mistakes and finish

Undo last action restores the preceding action, including a winning hit. The host can also add or remove a life and restore an accidentally eliminated player while play continues. Removing a final life asks for confirmation.

A player with no lives is out. The last player standing wins. After completion, choose Next game · same players to keep names, numbers and rules in a fresh game, or choose the empty-list option. The TV needs the new game's code.
